Außergewöhnliche Steilrandschale mit einem großflächigen Grisaille-Portrait des Grafen Camillo Marcolini, der von 1774 – 1814 der königlichen Porzellanmanufaktur Meissen vorstand. Besonderes Augenmerk ist auf die äußere und innere Bemalung der hochgezogenen Fahne zu legen. Äußerst farbenfroh wird hier auf Motive des antiken Griechenlands und Ägyptens zurückgriffen. Dies ist sicher der großen Ägyptomanie geschuldet, die im Europa des beginnenden 19. Jahrhunderts en vogue war.

Exceptional bowl with a large grisaille portrait of Count Camillo Marcolini, who headed the royal Meissen porcelain manufactory from 1774 – 1814. Particular attention should be paid to the outer and inner painting of the edges. Extremely colorful motifs from ancient Greece and Egypt are used here. This is certainly due to the great Egyptomania at the early beginning of the 19th century.
