Teller aus dem Warschauer Service

Der Teller ist in Form und Dekor eine Nachbildung des sogenannten „Brokatware“- Porzellans aus dem japanischen Imari. Ein nahezu identisches Vorbild findet sich im British Museum in London. Im Kunsthandel wird für dieses seltene Dekor auch der Ausdruck des Warschauer Services verwendet.

Rückseitig befindet sich in Kombination mit der Schwertermarke ein kleines unterglasurblaues K. Es wurde vom Blaumaler Johann David Kretzschmar (1697 – 1765) verwendet, der von 1726 – 1742 an der Königlichen Pozellanmanufaktur beschäftigt war.

The form and décor of the plate is a close copy of the „Brocade“ Pattern of Japanese Imari porcelain. A nearly identical example is exhibited in the British Museum in London. For this rare décor somtimes nonsensically the term „Warsaw Servive“ is used. The letter „K“ in combination with the crossed swords, both in underglaze blue, could stand for the blue-painter Johann David Kretzschmar (1697 – 1765), who has been working for the manufacture from 1726 to 1742.
